The surface of thermal paper is s coated with a mixture of a dye and an acid. When the mix is heated above its melting point, the dye reacts with the acid and changes colour. Usually this paper is seen inside fax machines and till rolls.
These prints are my first experiments recreating the chemigram technique, but using thermal principles as opposed to chemical ones. This will only work as a photogram-type process as the heat will travel through a negative with no discernible difference. I have used cold water and thermal fax paper.
